08 Presidential Elections
What the hell happened to this country? Has everyone just given up or just sold out for their own personal interest? I figure this country has only a few years left until it is divided up and goes down in history as another country that committed suicide from the inside. Between our country leaders and its citizens, they have taken this country down every road but the right one. It seems that they are more interested in their own welfare and not that of this country. I am writing this letter to anyone and everyone that still might care about saving this country for future generations. We have so many problems to solve here in this country that it is dragging us to stand still. We keep telling every other country how to run their country and we can’t even take care of our own country. We are going in so many different directions that nothing is getting done. The last two times this country had leadership, direction and a goal was in WWII and when we went to the moon and back. We are being pulled in so many different directions on problems that we are being suckered into a position that we will not be able to get out of and will be checkmated. When this happens, the flag will fall on a nation that did itself in!
I am looking for support in this next Presidential election as an independent candidate for the President of the United States of America in 2008. It seems that all of our political leaders are life time politician’s who live off the people and never really work in the world which they claim to work in. They make promises to get elected that we have to pay for. I have worked on my own in my own business for 16 years and have seen this country get lower and lower on the list of respectable countries. The word, honor and respect of this country have been lost to the point that we are the laughing stock of the world. The problems of this country started when we put our own self interest before that of our country and planet. We waste our natural resources in the name of progress and create waste and pollution as a by-product that we, nor anyone else, can use. We think we need to have the newest, latest and biggest to live. We are not living beyond our limits; we are living beyond common sense. With this logic we are losing everything we have ever built or stood for. It is impossible to list all of the problems in this country, but they are repairable. The sooner we get a leader that puts this country and our planet ahead of their own interests and sets realistic goals to meet, the better are the chances that this country will survive and be prosperous again. If we don’t do this, the Norman Rockwell image of this country and its beauty will be lost. This will be a disgrace to all of the people that sweated, bled and died for this country so that we could have a better future.
It is sad that in some ways we have written our own epitaph and haven’t even recognized it. Take the song ‘Cat’s in a Cradle.’ It represents how this country is tearing apart the foundation of the family, which is the foundation of this country. We are working so hard to just get by today that we don’t even have time to spend with our own family. We then wonder why we have so many problems in our families. There is a phrase that I read one day “Prepare the child for the path, not the path for the child.” This describes how we have prepared our kids to live in this country today.
Take a look at our kids. They are a mirror image of this country. Looking for a hand out and unsatisfied with what they have. Each thinks they need to live at a higher level than they can afford. This generation of kids has no idea of how to take care of themselves and expects someone else to look out for them. We have gone from protecting them too much to not even setting good examples for them to follow or look up to. When our leaders make laws they can’t even follow, what kind of leadership image does this give our young or, for that matter, and the rest of the world?
I am asking you to take some time and to hear me on some basic points of view that most folks never look at or even think about. I have learned to look at problems in a different way. Listen to me and you will find out that all of our problems come from the same source.
At times I wonder if our military can even protect this country in time of need. If an attack did happen on this country, most people would be running to the government for help instead of helping out this government. Most think we have a strong military today, they are wrong. The only advantage we have is our technology. That is the only thing giving us any advantage. Compare our military force to a racing engine; you can have all the latest gadgets to help you get more of an edge. But in the end, it is the man power or the cubic inches that get the work done.
I hope this letter has given you something to think about. It would be nice to hear from you and talk to you about the direction that this country is going and how to change it. This country has the ability to do so much good, but it is being pulled down and it is collapsing onto itself with “I and Me” mentality. It is not being supported with the “Us and We.” Suffering from lack of proper leadership, we have backslid from being proudly independent, to being irresponsibly dependent on the government. The system that once gave this country its strength, continuity and support has been pushed aside and abandoned. The infrastructure of this country has gotten too big and too complicated. The system has become clogged with bureaucracy, greed and corruption. We keep putting more demand on the system, which in turn creates bottle necks and jams up everything and then people wonder why we are in the mess we are in. What we need is one chief in the kitchen and the main menu item should be nail soup.
I would like to talk to you if you care about saving this country and listening to someone who might have the honor, beliefs and plans to save this country. No leader can fix the problem; it takes the people to do that. It takes a leader to set the direction, goals and morals to lead this nation back to being a respectable country. You can contact me via my web site; www.flehartyusa.com. This country has a long road back to the top. The sooner we start and the harder we work at it, the sooner we will be able to enjoy what we and our forefathers built.
